Use the Private People list to find living and confidential people in Family Tree, whether the person is in your private tree or in a family group tree.
You can also try other ways to find a living or confidential person:
- If you know the person's ID, use the Find by ID feature.
- If you do not know the person's ID, try one of these options:
- Open Family Tree, open the tree where the person is located, and navigate to him or her.
- Look for the person in the Recents list.
- Search for a close deceased relative of the person. Then navigate to the person.
Steps (website)
- In Family Tree, use the tree selector in the upper-left corner to switch to the tree that contains the people that you want to find.
- At the top of the screen, click Person List.
- To easily navigate to a person in the tree, click a person's name. Then choose either of these options:
- To view the person page, click Person.
- To view the person on a pedigree view, click Tree.
- To sort the list by name, date of birth, sex, date created, or date modified, click Options.
- To search for a specific person, enter the name in the Search by Name field.
Steps (mobile app)
- While signed in to the Family Tree mobile app:
- Apple iOS: In the bottom toolbar, tap Recents. At the top of the Recents screen, tap Private People.
- Android: At the top right of the screen, look for an icon with two people. Tap this icon to view the Recents list.
- For both Apple iOS and Android, if you have added private people (such as a spouse or children), they will also be visible in your family tree view.
