This series of land and property records contains records of property transactions for Seminole County from the time that the land belonging to the Seminole tribe was broken up into allotments to the 1920s. A few of the records are as recent as the 1940s. The records include deeds, homestead records, mortgages, and miscellaneous records which include oil and gas leases, land purchased and sold by the railroads,chattel mortgages, professional licenses, etc. The records also include records of land allotted to Seminole Indians who were enrolled in the tribe as members or freedmen. The allotment records differ from other land and property records because, in addition to information about the property, they record tribal enrollment with personal and family information.

All of the records are arranged in a series of consecutive volumes. The deeds, mortgages and miscellaneous records are generally not mixed within one volume, but there is not a separate series of volumes for each record type. The indexes are separate for each record type. All of the indexes are listed at the beginning of the records.
