Library of Congress collection of Mormon diaries

The first item on the first reel contains "Inventory of Mormons diaries, journals, and life sketches" which Library of Congress indicates was received with the transcripts when these were deposited with the Library.

Collection of transcripts of Latter-day Saint journals, diaries, biographies, life sketches, historical sketches of localities, etc. The transcripts (chiefly typewritten) were made in 1936-1937 by the Utah Historical Records Survey, Works Progress Administration Federal Writers' Projects--in St. George, Ogden, Logan, Salt Lake City, Provo and elsewhere in Utah--and list (where applicable) the name and locality of the possessor of the original from which the transcripts were made.
