Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Buckners (and variant spellings) and their allied families who came mainly from England and Germany. Others came from Switzerland, Ireland, and elsewhere. Some settled in Maryland, North Carolina, and Virginia in the late 1600's. Focus is on (but not limited to) descendants of the English immigrant, John Buckner (ca. 1630-ca. 1695) who married Debora Ferrers in 1661. They settled in Gloucester County, Virginia in 1667. His descendants, and other Buckners moved to Alabama, Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and Washington in the 1800's. One descendant, Jesse Avery Buckner (1836-1915) migrated westward ca. 1863. Many other family lines are represented, including George Washington Buckner, Shadrick Buckner, Hesekiah Buckner, Rev. Burrow Buckner, Able Buckner, Edward Buckner, James Monroe Buckner, Levi Buckner and his wife, Sarah Booth, Benjamin F. Buckner, Garrett W.D. Buckner, Paschal Buckner, and others. Later descendants also lived in Arizona, California, Georgia, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Wisconsin, and elsewhere.
