Chiefly ancestors, relatives, and descendants of Joseph Henderson Huie and his wife, Girtie Lindsey.
Samuel Huie (1756-1818) was born in Rowan County, North Carolina. He married Jane Orton Morrison between 1777 and 1781. They had at least five sons. He is buried in the Presbyterian Church Cemetery at Concord, North Carolina. His great grandson, Joseph Henderson Huie (1866-1952), was born at Robinson Springs, Alabama, the son of Josiah Henderson and Martha Sager Spears Huie. He married Girtie Lindsey in 1904. They had eight children, 1905-1915. He moved to Washington, D.C., in 1950 to live with a son and daughter-in-law, and died there in 1952.
Thomas Lindsey was born in England and immigrated to America in 1715 and settled in Halifax County, Virginia. He was the father of five sons. His great great grandson, William L. Lindsey (1840-1919), was born in Tallapoosa County, Alabama, the son of Joseph and Nancy Branham Lindsey. He married Marie Ellen McPherson (d. 1904), daughter of Zachariah McPherson of Sewickly, Pennsylvania, in 1872. They had three daughters, 1867-1880. Their daughter, Girtie Linsey (1880-1943), was born at Kellyton, Alabama. She married Joseph Henderson Huie in 1904.
