"The Oregon Trail was a 2,000 mile stretch from Independence, Missouri to Oregon City. It crossed what are known today as the states of Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Wyoming, Idaho, Washington, California, and Oregon. It is estimated that 300,000 people crossed the route, generally taking five to six months between 1843 and 1860. At about half the distance, the Oregon Trail merged with or paralleled others; the California Trail and the Mormon (Council Bluffs) Road. Oregon Country in 1843 included the present day states of Idaho, Oregon and Washington; portions of Montana and Wyoming; and half of the province of British Columbia"--Introd. to the Oregon Trail.

It is our desire to publish all the information that can be gathered concerning the Oregon Trail that might help researchers such as you and I. This booklet is a place for people with common OREGON TRAIL problems to help each other and share information.
