A history of the various Freeman lines in Virginia, including the family of Lieutenant-Colonel Bridges Freeman who was born in England ca. 1603. He emigrated to America in 1622. In 1635, he married Bridget, the daughter of Francis Fowler. They had three children. He was named to the Virginia Council of State in 1652.

Includes the Walker, Hopkins, Watkins and other allied families.
