How do I remove or restore a photo or person from my home page?

After you sign in to FamilySearch.org, you manage the memories in the home page feed. The home page only shows on the full website.

Hide memory steps (website)

  1. If you are not on the home page, click the FamilySearch logo in the upper-left corner.
  2. Find the box with the image you want to remove.
  3. In the lower-right corner of the box, click the three dots.
  4. Click an option:
    • Hide Memory removes the item from your feed. If you change your mind, click Undo.
    • Remove (ancestor name) from this page removes the person from your feed. Review the pop-up screen message and click Remove or Cancel. If you click Remove, the person no longer shows in the image feed or in Recommended Tasks list.
    • Report Abuse sends a message to a group that reviews the possible abuse of our standards and can remove the memory item. Abuse occurs when a memory item violates our terms of use or upload guidelines.

Restore hidden ancestors steps (website)

If you click to remove an ancestor from your home page, you can undo the action:

  1. Go to your account settings.
  2. Click Permissions.
  3. Scroll down to Hidden Ancestors.
  4. Click Manage hidden ancestors.
