Steps (website)
From Search Historical Records
- Sign in to FamilySearch.org.
- At the top of any FamilySearch page, click Search.
- From the drop-down menu, click Records.
- Enter search terms and click Search.
- Click the page icon to the right of the record that interests you.
- The Cite this Record section provides a citation.
From Explore Historical Images
- Sign in to FamilySearch.org.
- At the top of any FamilySearch page, click Search.
- From the drop-down menu, click Images.
- Enter search terms and click Search.
- Click an item in the search results to open the collection of images.
- In the information panel on the right, scroll down to find the citation.
- Click the copy icon (two papers) to copy the citation.
Steps (mobile app)
- Open the FamilySearch Family Tree app.
- Tap the 3 lines icon.
- Tap Search Historical Records.
- Enter search terms and tap Search.
- Tap the paper icon for a record of interest.
- Cite this Record contains a citation.
