When a person in Family Tree already has a portrait photo, you can make it bigger and show a different part of the photo. All users see your changes.
Steps (website)
You can edit portraits from the Family Tree section of FamilySearch.org.
- In Family Tree on the FamilySearch.org website, display the person page.
- Click the current portrait.
- Click the Photo tab.
- Click a photo.
- Drag the photo to reposition the portrait portion.
- In the top-right portion of the screen, use the buttons to adjust the size and orientation.
- Click Save.
Steps (Family Tree mobile app)
You can use the Family Tree mobile app to edit portrait photos.
- In the Family Tree mobile app, display the person page.
- Tap the current portrait.
- Tap the pencil icon. If you do not see the pencil icon, tap in the portrait image. The icon appears on the right.
- Tap Edit Portrait.
- Adjust the portrait:
- Use the green dot to adjust the tag's size.
- Drag the tag until it covers the part of the photo that you want to use.
- Tap Save.
Steps (Family Tree Lite)
Family Tree Lite does not use portrait photos.
