Everyone has a unique history—and a unique experience with their family history. Some struggle to find any record, any journal entry that can connect them to deceased family members. Others are trying—successfully or unsuccessfully—to interest their children and youth in stories of their grandparents.
Others gratefully refer to an “Aunt Edna” figure and how she is the family historian who has “done it all” when it comes to their family history—the beloved relative who has all the keepsakes and photos and who always has a family name that can be taken to the temple.
Wherever we are in our family history journey, whether we are trying to find a place to begin, feel stuck, or finally feel confident in our path, we can all find something inspiring in the recent (April 2022) general conference for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. As it is now about halfway between April and October, it’s a good time to revisit these most recent conference talks. For the next few weeks, we would like to highlight some of our favorite quotes and takeaways. We even found a mention of Aunt Edna there!
