Overview
As a Helper, your opportunity is to train and orient new temple and family history consultants and other helpers. Your efforts will truly bless generations.
After taking some initial steps, you’ll introduce new consultants to the Consultant Calling page (www.familysearch.org/calling). Then you’ll provide them with their own personalized experience, and assist them as they prepare personalized experiences for others. Throughout, you’ll be a source of ongoing support.
Step 1—Initial Steps
Once you learn that a new consultant is called, there are a few steps you should take to ensure that he or she has a joyful experience gathering family.
Step 2—First Meeting
In your first meeting with the new consultant you will share some basic training and orientation on their new calling, and explain the value of personalized history experiences. You’ll also ask some initial questions in preparation for providing them with their own personalized experience.
Step 3—Second Meeting
The purpose of the second meeting is to deliver the personalized family history experience you have prayerfully prepared for the new consultant. A main goal is to model how to use the four principles to create an engaging discovery experience.
Step 4—Help Them Prepare
After the consultant has determined who to reach out to, help him or her prepare the personalized family history experience.
Step 5—Ongoing Support
Your ongoing support is key to the success of the new consultant experiencing joy in his or her calling, and in providing joyful family history experiences in those they serve.
