Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Gillam (and variant spellings) families who came mainly from Belgium, England, Holland, Ireland, and Wales. Some allied families also came from England, Germany, and Ireland. Some had Cherokee, Creek, or other American Indian bloodlines. Some had African American bloodlines. In the 1600-1700s, some settled in Saskatchewan (Canada), and in Connecticut, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. During the 1800s, some moved to Alberta (Canada), Australia, and to Alabama, Arkansas, California, Georgia, Illinois, Kansas, Louisiana, Maine, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Ohio, Oklahoma, Texas, Washington, West Virginia, and Wisconsin. Later descendants and relatives also lived in British Columbia, Labrador, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, and Ontario (Canada), New Zealand, and in Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Iowa, Nebraska, Oregon, South Dakota, Wyoming, and elsewhere. Some adoptions into the Gillam family are noted. Information is taken from census records, correspondence, obituaries, shared family histories, and other sources. Years covered are ca. 1600 to the present.

CD-ROM includes a record of families with the Gillam (and variant spellings) surname showing lineage linked data. Information was taken from Ancestral File, census records, Gillams Galore newsletters (1981-2002), the IGI, Social Security Death Index, and other sources. "The charts are basically meant to be a starting point so that a researcher can see what has been done on a particular line..." -- Introductory screen. The CD-ROM series began in 1999, and is updated annually to include all past issues plus the new year's issues of "Gillams Galore" and the documentation supporting each issue. Documentation includes birth, marriage, and death certificates, bible records, census transcripts, correspondence with other researchers, descendants' charts, excerpts and articles from other historical publications, family group sheets, IGI extracts, obituaries, pedigree charts, portraits, photo-copies of issue covers, wills, and other research material.
