The DAR "took the bonds, returns, consents and other documents and had them arranged and bound, chronologically in seven handsome volumes. Many of the records have been lost, such as all the bonds for 1836, to name only one such shortage. Many of the earlier marriages have no remaining record at all; for instance, there are sixteen records preserved for 1796 but only one for 1798." --P. [i] of unofficial index.
