Peter Tallman (1623-1708) was born at Hamburg, Germany, the son of Peter Talemann/Taelmann (1589-1622) and the great grandson of Michiel Taleman (b. ca. 1520) of Gent, East Flanders, Belguim. He immigrated to the Barbados in 1647 and married Ann Hill there ca. 1649. They immigrated to Connecticut, ca. 1650. Peter and Ann Tallman had eight children, ca. 1651-1665. They were divorced in 1665. He married 2) Joan Briggs in 1665 at Posmouth, Rhode Island. They had eight children, 1666-1684. Joan Tallman died in 1685. He married 3) Mrs. Esther Tallman, ca. 1686. They had two children, 1687-1691. Peter Tallman died at Portsmouth, Rhode Island. Descendants listed lived in Rhode Island, Connecticut, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Ohio, Maine, Iowa, Massachusetts, Washington D.C., Georgia, Missouri, California, and elsewhere.
