Edward A. Brumbelow (b. ca. 1680) and his wife, Mary, had four children, 1710-1718, all born at Warsaw, Richmond Couty, Virginia. Record chiefly follows line of descent to William Lewis Brumbelow (1870- 1938). He was born in Grayson County, Texas, the son of Nathaniel Brumbelow (1841-1916) and Mary Francis Edwards Brumbelow (1848-1926). He married Alice Josephine Helton (1876-1971) in 1894. She was born in Shelby County, Tennessee, the daughter of William Benton Helton (1847-1923) and Naomi Elizabeth Simpson Helton (1849-1921). They had eight children, 1895-1919. William and Alice Brumbelow are buried in the Oakwood Cemetery, Jacksboro, Texas. Descendants live in Texas and elsewhere.

Also include the family of the parents of Alice Josephine Helton Brumbelow. William Benton Helton (1847-1923), a Union soldier in the Civil War, and Naomi Benton Simpson (1849-1921), both natives of Tennessee, were married in Franklin County, Tennessee, in 1969. They had nine children, 1871-1888. The family moved to Jack County, Texas, ca. 1877. Includes Helton, Brumbelow, and other grandchildren.

Also includes information on some descendants of Thomas Edwards (1793-1857), son of William Edwards (1767-1856). Thomas Edwards was born in North Carolina and died in Montgomery County, Illinois. He was the grandfather of Mary Francis Edward Brumbelow, William Lewis Brubelow's mother.
