The ancestors of Hubert Leon Parr Sr. (1886-1969), son of Henry Warden Parr and Ella/Elvira Conner. He was born in Clifton, Wayne, Tennessee, and died in Tampa, Hillsborough, Florida. He married Ellen Antoinette Gascoigne (1898-1992), daughter of Charles Gascoigne and Catherine Doyle, in 1916 in Mobile, Alabama. The earliest recorded ancestor of the author's lineage is John Parr, who died 1808 in Patrick County, Virginia. He and his wife, Miriam, had six children. The early Gascoigne ancestor, Charles Gascoigne, married Martha Whitaker in 1781 in Yorkshire, England. They had six children, all born in England. Their son, Charles (1794-1857), was born in Sheffield, England and married Deborah Post (1795-1843). He died in Brooklyn, New York, and she in Mobile, Alabama. Descendants live in New York, Virginia, Kentucky, Alabama, Texas, California and elsewhere. Includes some unconnected Parr families in the United States.
