Johannes Row/Rowe (1696-1768) was born in Germany and died in Dutchess County, New York. His son, Johannes Rowe (1722-1771), was born in Germany and immigrated to America, ca. 1760. He married twice and was the father of seven children. He died in Dutchess County, New York. Record lists children of each generation, but chiefly follows line of descent to John Gray Rowe (1907-1961). He was born at Broadrick, Yolo County, California, the son of Phillip Harrison Rowe (1864-1927) and Daisy Frances Simmons Rowe (1877-1910). He joined the Navy in 1927. He married Anna Mae Padgett in 1931 at Norfolk, Virginia. They adopted a daughter born in 1952. He served in the Pacific as a naval aviator during World War II and retired from the Navy in 1947. He was working in real estate at Washington, D.C. at the time of his death at the Bethesda Naval Hospital, Bethesda, Maryland. He is buried at Arlington National Cemetery.
