Book "constitutes a record of 8,777 persons associated with Virginia who died from any cause whatsoever while serving in the armed forces of the United Nations, 1940-1946, of 11 persons who died as a result of service-connected causes after discharge from the armed forces, and of 149 persons who died from various causes while serving in certain civilian organizations which have been auxiliary to the armed forces of the United States." -- Pref.
Arranged by counties and cities and gives names of the war dead, their ranks, their branches of service, and the relationships, names and post offices of their nearest survivors.
