Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the inter-related Mitchell, Cottrell, Rose, and Walther families. The Mitchell family came mainly from England. In the 1600's-1700's some immigrated to Georgia, Maryland, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Rhode Island. Focus is on the descendants of the Revolutionary War soldier, George Rose, Sr. (d. 1854), who settled in Essex County and in King and Queen County, Virginia. His great-great granddaughter, Sarah Isabelle Rose (1866-1932) married Forest Mitchell, Sr. (1863-1930), the son of Robert Evans Mitchell and Jane Somerville Strode. In 1893, a later descendant, Maria Louise "Lula" Cottrell (1871-1950) married William E. Walther (1870-1928). During the 1800's, some descendants moved to Nova Scotia, Ontario, and Prince Edward Island (Canada), and to Alabama, Arkansas, California, Florida, Indiana, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia. Later descendants also lived in Australia, Bermuda (West Indies), Canada, France, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and in Illinois, Oklahoma, and elsewhere.
