Vital records were kept by the clerk of District Court under the auspices of the Minnesota Division of Vital Statistics.
Illegitimate births were not filmed.
Delayed births are contained at the end of each volume or at the end of each year within the volume.
Records usually give the name of the child, sex, race, date and place of birth, parents' names, their ages, who reported birth, and date recorded. Sometimes additional information was given; such as parents' occupations and birthplaces, birth order of child, number of children for mother, etc.
