หมายเหตุ
These miscellaneous papers of the Continental Congress are NOT part of the numbered item series of volumes comprising the main body of records reproduced as Papers of the Continental Congress (M247). They are dated 1774-1789 for the most part, although one letter is dated 1773 and a few papers are dated after 1789.
The library has an index to another record (Papers of the Continental Congress, 1774-1789) (M247) which may be helpful in locating additional documents on the same subject or written by the same same person in this record. .
"Some of these miscellaneous papers duplicate documents in the numbered Item Series, but others do not. They consist chiefly of loose papers and a few volumes relating to such subjects as foreign, naval, and fiscal affairs, papers relating to specific states, and papers kept by the Office of the Secretary of Congress. Among them are originals and copies of dispatches and letters (including some letters from Louis XVI), reports of the Marine Committee, the Marine Committee Letter book, bonds, receipts, deeds of cession of Western Lands, credential of Delegates to the Continental Congress, and broadsides issued by Congress"--Introd.
"The records are arranged by type, such as dispatches, letters, credentials, and various papers, and thereunder by name of writer or subject and by date. Some of these categories contain a large number of documents in rough chronological order and fugitive documents may appear. Other categories by contain only one or two papers"--Introd.
