John Paul Vaught (ca.1676/1680-1760/1761), with his wife and family, immigrated in 1733 from Frankfurt, Germany to Philadelphia, and probably lived briefly in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. They later settled in Orange (now Madison) County, Virginia. Christley Vaught (ca.1754-1830), a grandson of John Paul and probably a son of Andrew Vaught, married Elizabeth Phillippi and moved from Montgomery County to Wythe County, Virginia. Gaspar, his brother lived in Virginia and Pulaski County, Kentucky. Descendants lived throughout the U.S.
