Robert Thomson (d.1702) was an ancestor of the Waddy-Thomson family of New Kent Co., VA. He married Judith (d.1709) and their children recorded in the Register of St. Peter's New Kent were: Robert (b.1687), David (b.1690), Hannah (b.1696) and Martha (b.1701). The tradition of the Waddy-Thomsons, claims their descent from Maurice Thomson, who came to Virginia in 1620. A later member of the family, Waddy Thomson (b.1725), son of David Thomson, married (1) Elizabeth Anderson, daughter of Nelson Anderson of Hanover. At her death, he married (2) Mary Lewis, daughter of Colonel Robert Lewis and Jane Meriwether of "Belvoir", Albemarle Co., VA and widow of Samuel Cobbs of Louisa Co. Several generations of ancestors and descendants are given.

Thomas, Samuel and James Bell emigrated from Scotland to Ireland and then to the Colonies in 1740 and settled and married in Pennsylvania near Canakadig. Then Thomas and James moved to Virginia and settled in Augusta or Amherst Counties. Thomas Bell was the father of: Betsy, John, Mary, James, Thomas (b.1754) married Judy Thompson. James Bell married Agnes Hogshead. Several generations of descendants are given.
