The following information will help in using the index: if the volume column references 1-8 it refers to the birth records, if it refers to C-1 or C-2 references this is the Bowie City birth records (not kept at this courthouse), "BVS" refers to birth certificates housed at the Bureau of Vital Statistics in Austin, references to PM-29 and PM-30 refer to the Probate minutes v. 29-30, references to PB-1 refer to Probate minutes of births v. 1.
