Pages 1-27 in v. 1 are badly damaged. These pages cover certificates nos. 1-155 with nos. 65-75 found loose in the back of the volume.

Three volumes contain "copies of certificates issued by the governor and Council to persons entitled to bounty lands for Revolutionary War military service, either in their own right or as an heir or assignee". -- Virginia Land Office inventory, p. 24.

Gives name of soldier, his rank, service record, and when a warrant was issued for land. After 1850, they give only information about the warrant.
