Newsletter for the interchange of genealogical data and history of the Hite (and variant spellings) families who descended from Palatine immigrants from Germany and Holland. Ancestors settled during the 1600's-1700's in New York, Maryland, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Rhode Island. Some Loyalist descendants moved into Canada, and other families moved to the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. Jost Hite's family established homes, built the historic Bowman grist mill and lumber mill, and the Belle Grove Plantation and mansion in the Shenandoah valley. Later Hite descendants also lived in California, Delaware, Georgia, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Missouri, Nebraska, North and South Carolina, Wisconsin, West Virginia, and elsewhere.
