Some years have two lists since the county was divided into two districts. There was no tax collected in the year 1808, the General Assembly did not pass tax collecting legislation for that year.
The records filmed at the Virginia State Library may be the copies sent to the General Auditor. They have minor differences from those filmed at the Accomack County Courthouse.
Gives name of the person taxed, type of property taxed, and the amount taxed.
