Census of the Jews in Hungary (mainly what is today Hungary and the province of Slovakia in Czechoslovakia, the Subcarpathian part of Ukraine, and Burgenland, Austria). Usually contains the name of the head of the house, sometimes the wife's and children's names (sometimes just the number of family members), the number of servants and their religion, the name of the landlord when they lived on his land, possessions and the taxes assessed. Includes various reports and petitions for tax deductions. Arranged by alphabetical order of the counties. Many times the latinized spellings of names used in the records are quite different from commonly known Hungarian spellings.
