Robert Reynolds, a Puritan, was born in England, ca. 1580. He and his wife, Mary, had at least five children, born in England. The family immigrated to Massachusetts, ca. 1630 and settled at Boston. He died at Boston in 1659. His granddaughter, Ruth Whitney, was born at Watertown in 1645, the daughter of John and Ruth Reynolds Whitney. She married Enoch Lawrence in 1676/7. They had four children, 1677-1686. Record follows line of descent through their son, Nathaniel (b. 1677/8), to the author, Evelyn Esther Olsen. She was born at Onalaka, Wisconsin in 1903, the daughter of Herman and Merna B. Pooler Olsen. She married Melvin R. Burlingame. They had two children, 1930-1944, born at Minneapolis, Minnesota.
