Case files often included both civil and criminal cases. Some folders include both case types interspersed and numbered sequentially. Other folders have civil cases appearing first followed by criminal cases, each with independent numbering. Additionally, some folders include unnumbered ranges (typically following the court cases) consisting of one or more of the following: criminal cases, end of term papers, new entries, bill of costs, county costs, county treasurer's accounts, etc.

Includes proceedings and case files for the Court of Common Pleas. There is some overlap with the Court of Common Pleas and the District Court prior to the abolishment of the Court of Common Pleas in 1839, with both courts represented in one volume of that year.
