"On the 23 rolls of this microfilm publication, M1901, are reproduced the records of the Arkansas field offices of the Bureau of Refugees, Freedmen, and Abandoned Lands, 1865-1872. These records consist of bound volumes and unbound records, containing materials that include letters and endorsements sent and received, monthly reports, applications of freedmen for rations, and other records relating to freedmen's claims and homesteads." -- P.1.
