Lost relative? Brick wall? Are Australian records the solution
It would be easy to overlook your Australian ancestor as the solution to your genealogical brick wall. But Australia has some detailed and unique data sets. If you had ancestors who moved to or visited Australia, you can take advantage of Australia's detailed records to fill gaps in your family tree. Using Australia's detailed or different record sets you may access information not available to you elsewhere. The presentation will include our uniquely detailed BDMs, naturalization records of refugees and migrants, hospital and other relevant records. These sources record details about place of origin, name the preceding generation, lost occupations and more. If your ancestor was a seaman, a refugee, a migrant or after gold, these are the records that might help you make progress with your family line. This presentation will include examples of these record sets and the details they hold, and explain how to access them. Many of them are available for free online or by payment.
