Where can I find the source details in Family Tree?

Sources give us verified and sometimes interesting information about our ancestors.

Steps (website)

  1. While signed in to FamilySearch, navigate to the Person page of the individual with sources you wish to view.
  2. Display the person's sources or their relationship sources:

    • If the source is about a person, click the Sources tab or the Sources option in the Tools.
    • If the source is about a couple relationship, click the Details tab. Scroll down to the Family Members section, and click the edit icon that is next to the couple's marriage information.
    • If the source is about a parent-child relationship, click the Details tab. Scroll down to the Family Members section, and click the edit icon that is next to the child's name.
    • If the source is about an other relationship, click the Details tab. Scroll down to the Other Relationships section, and click the edit icon that is next to the name.
  3. To see more information, click the title of the source.

Steps (mobile app)

  1. In the Family Tree mobile app, tap the name of the relative whose sources you want to view.
  2. Tap the Sources tab.
  3. To view more information, tap a source title.
