You can leave a family group easily if you no longer want to participate in the Family Group Tree preview.

Do groups have a size limit?
Groups created before the update can have up to 100 FamilySearch users. If you create a new group, the group can have up to 500 FamilySearch users.
Note: The previous number of members a group administrator could invite to a group was 99. If a group administrator has a group with a limit of 99 members and wants to increase the group number to 500, they can contact FamilySearch Support for assistance.

How many family groups can I join?
Each FamilySearch user can join up to 10 family groups.
Can group members share living information in Family Tree?
Yes. Living information can be shared with family group members who you invited to edit your Family Group Tree.
Can group members see or share private memories?
No. Private memories are visible only to the user who created them, but they can be shared within a family group.
Is there an age limit for who can create a family group?
Yes. FamilySearch users must be 18 or older to create a family group.
How do I remove someone from a family group?
Group administrators can remove a participant of a family group.
