Recents is a feature on the FamilySearch Home Page, in the Tree views and on the Person Page.
Recents includes these items:
- A search bar to find a person by name or ID
- A link to the root person (account holder), if the root and starting person are different.
- A link to the starting person
- A list of the most recent 50 records viewed
- A link to "+ Add Unconnected Person" at bottom of Recents list.
Note: When an ancestor is a starting person, the ancestor appears as the second person in the Recents list, above the line and below the original starting person.
Steps (website)
- Sign in to FamilySearch.org
- Click Family Tree.
- Click Tree
- Click Recents.
- To search for a name on the list, use the search bar at the top of the Recents list.
- To view the person page, click a name on the list. Or to view the tree of the person, click the pedigree icon.
- To remove a name from the list, in the top-right corner, click Edit. Click the x next to each name that you want to remove, and then in the top-right corner, click Done.
Steps (mobile app)
- In the Family Tree mobile app:
- Android: In the top-right corner, tap the people icon.
- Apple iOS: In the bottom toolbar, tap Recents.
- Use the search bar to quickly find a name.
- To open a Person page, tap a name.
- To remove a name, swipe left, and then tap Remove.
Steps (Family Tree Lite)
Family Tree Lite does not include the Recents feature. Visit the full website.
