You can arrange and filter the photographs, stories, documents, and audio files that are in your Memories Gallery. The Memories Gallery contains all memory items you uploaded to Family Tree.
To arrange memories in a specific order, create an album and put the items in it. You can then reorder the memories within that album.
Steps (website)
- On FamilySearch.org, sign in and click Memories.
- In the drop-down, click Gallery.
- To change the viewing format of your memories, click List or Grid.
- List displays memories as a list, which you can sort by column.
- Grid displays memories in a grid with a thumbnail preview for each memory.
- To limit the type of memory that you see, click Filter.
- Choose which memory types you want to view from the filter options across the top (Photos, Stories, Documents, Audios).
- Select from additional filter options under the Visibility Setting and Show headings.
- To change the order that your memories display, click Sort.
Select a sort option from the drop-down list (Date Added, Date of Memory, Place, Title).
Note: Click a sort option again to switch between ascending and descending order.
Steps (mobile app)
In both the Family Tree and Memories mobile apps, you can choose whether you see photos, stories, documents, or audio files.
- Open the Family Tree or Memories mobile app.
- If you are using the Family Tree mobile app, display the memories of the person that you want. Filter options appear if you have more memories for the person than fit on the screen.
- Tap one of the five filter options across the top.
- Photos (the camera icon) shows only photos.
- Stories (the open book icon) shows only stories.
- Documents (the two pieces of paper icon) shows only documents.
- Audio (the microphone icon) shows only audio files.
