Family Tree app does not sync on my iOS mobile device.

If you make changes on the website, changes appear on the app within a few days. You can force a refresh.

Download the pedigree

If you want the app to update your first six generations with one request, use the Download Pedigree option. You need an internet connection to perform the action.

  1. In the Family Tree mobile app, in the bottom-right, tap the 3 lines.
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Tap Download Pedigree.
  4. Tap OK.
  5. The download can take a few minutes.

Refresh a person

If you want to update information for one person, use the Refresh Person option. The app retrieves the latest updates for all sections of the Family Tree profile. You must have an internet connection.

  1. In the Family Tree Mobile app, navigate to an individual's details.
  2. On the right side, above the dark bar that includes the name, tap the 3 dots icon.
  3. Tap More. 
  4. Tap Refresh Person. 

You can refresh any screen that includes a list. Pull the list all the way down. The "pull to refresh" option is a common refresh method for mobile apps.

Uninstall the app

You can delete the app and then reinstall it.

Sign out

Sign out of the app and then sign back in. The app refreshes.
