Using Swedish Tax Records to Solve Tough Genealogical Problems

You have traced your Swedish family to the early 1800s and even into the 1700s, but have run out of parish records. Are you at the end? NO! Swedish tax records can take your lineage back one, two and sometimes three additional generations! We will explore accessing these records and how to interpret them; while focusing on typical problems that you might have. Tax records can help-- span gaps in records, define relationships and identify missing dates of events. Correlating multiple years of records can lead to answers that extend your lineage into the 1700s and even the 1600s. These records fill in when household examinations and parish records are not extant.
