Using the in-person App



The RootsTech in-person app is designed to facilitate your in-person experience at the Salt Palace.

App Overview

The RootsTech app requires iOS 15 and higher, or Android 11 and higher. If your device is not compatible with those operating systems, you can create your in-person schedule on the web here. https://cvent.me/gDekAG

Build your schedule



Creating your in-person schedule is simple on the RootsTech app.

Steps


  1. Login to the RootsTech app by typing in your name and email and then your FamilySearch credentials, if you used them to register or your confirmation ID.
  2. Start by selecting Schedule at the top of the home screen or the calendar icon at the bottom of the app.
  3. Filter by day or time to see what sessions are available during each session block or you can use the search icon at the top to search for a topic or speaker.
  4. Click the card for each class to learn more about the session.
  5. Add the session from the class card using the "Add session" button. (Please note, workshop sessions have very limited seating and require a $25 fee. If you add one of the workshop sessions to your schedule, you will be redirected to the registration website to pay the fee.)

After you have started adding sessions you can see your daily schedule by switching to the My Schedule tab in the bar at the top of the screen.

If you cannot access the app, to build your schedule, you can build it on the web here https://cvent.me/gDekAG. Building on that page will sync to the app, for your in-person experience.

If you choose to create your schedule on RootsTech.org/schedule, it will not sync with the app. Scheduling on RootsTech.org will show you all in-person and online sessions and can be accessed from your mobile device by logging to our website.

Find your way at RootsTech



The RootsTech app includes two maps to help you find your way around the Salt Palace convention center. You can see the full event map, including check-in, classrooms, the Main Stage and the Expo Hall and you can see a detailed map of the Expo Hall that will help you connect with the best of the family history industry. Maps will be available the week before RootsTech begins.

Using the Speakers or Exhibitors buttons on the app you can explore lists of who will be at RootsTech or search for them by name.
