How to De-Select a First Ancestor in Family Tree

Share

In the First Ancestor view, the person of focus should have at least one first ancestor. You can remove a first ancestor if the wrong person is listed.

If the person of focus is connected to more than one first ancestor, you can display a different first ancestor instead of removing the one currently displayed.

Steps (website)

  1. In Family Tree, on the right side of the screen, click the caret to select the First Ancestor view.
  2. Click the Options icon .
  3. In the panel on the right, click Add/Edit First Ancestor.
  4. In the pop-up window, click Remove First Ancestor.
  5. Click the trash can icon to confirm that you want to remove that ancestor as the first ancestor.
  6. Then, click Remove. The ancestor will be successfully removed.
