If you try to upload an audio file to FamilySearch, and you get the message "Uploading failed," the problem is probably caused by bad encoding of the file or by a browser setting, cookies, or an extension or firewall issue. Here are some things to try:
- If the file is bigger than 15 MB, break it into smaller files.
- If the file format is not .m4a, .mp3, or. wav file, use a tool or website to convert the file to .mp3 format.
- If the file is in.mp3 format and the bit rate is lower than 76 kbps, use a tool or website to convert the audio bit rate to 128 kbps or higher.
- Make sure your firewall allows file uploads.
- Make sure that you do not have any cookies or browser extensions that prevent file uploads.
- Check your browser settings, and clear cookies, cache, and temporary files.
Please contact FamilySearch Support if the problem persists.
