Microfilm circulation service has been discontinued.

On September 8, 2017, FamilySearch discontinued its microfilm distribution services.

In 2021, FamilySearch completed digitization of all microfilms. You can view many of them online at home, at a FamilySearch center, or at an affiliate library.

Even though all the films at the Vault are digitized, we abide by the contracts made with the owners of those records. The original owning institutions decide the access level for the films we house. We cannot release copyrighted or contract-protected material on the Internet to the world. You can access many digitized films at FamilySearch centers and affiliate libraries.

Order films to the FamilySearch Library in Salt Lake City, Utah

The supply of microfilm is rapidly diminishing. Therefore, you can no longer request copies of microfilms from the Granite Mountain Record Vault to view at the FamilySearch Library. We are working on alternate methods of access for microfilmed records that cannot be released to the public online. We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience as we develop these alternative options.

Why are some catalog films unindexed?
