Family Tree tracks all changes to an ancestor's information, including information about relationships. If you disagree with a change, you can review it and make any corrections you think are necessary.
Steps (website)
- While signed in to FamilySearch, navigate to the Person page of the individual you want to see.
- If you do not see Vitals near the top of the page, click the Details tab.
- To undo changes made about the person, follow these steps:
- Find the Latest Changes box.
- Click Show All.
- To undo a change in a couple relationship for the person, follow these steps:
- Scroll down to the Family Members section.
- Find the couple, and click their Edit icon.
- Click See All Changes.
- To undo a change to a parent-child relationship for the person, follow these steps.
- Scroll down to the Family Members section.
- Find the child, and click the Edit icon for the parent-child relationship.
- Click See All Changes.
- Find the change that you want to undo. If the word Restore appears on the far right, you can undo it.
- Click Restore.
- On the popup, review the information.
- Click Restore.
- If the word Reference appears on the far right, more details are available:
- Click Reference.
- To see if the Restore option is available, review the available list.
- To contact the FamilySearch user who made the change, click his or her contact name. You can then use the FamilySearch messaging system to communicate.
Steps (mobile app)
- On the individual's profile page, tap the three dots in the upper right. On an Android device, skip to step 3.
- On an Apple iOS device, tap More.
- Tap Recent changes.
- If it is available, you can tap Restore to revert to the original information.
Steps (Family Tree Lite)
Family Tree Lite currently does not provide an option for viewing changes.
