How do I remove Vitals information in Family Tree?

You can delete vital information from an individual's profile, even if you are not the original contributor.
You cannot delete some information:

  • Name
  • Sex
  • Death information (unless you first change the status of the person to Living)

Steps (website)

  1. Sign in to FamilySearch, click Family Tree, and then click Tree.
  2. Find the person that you want to edit.
  3. Click the person's name. In the details that pop up, click the person's name again.
  4. Click the Details tab.
  5. Under Vitals, find the information that you want to delete.
  6. Click the Edit icon.
  7. Review the current information and any reason statements.
  8. On the left side of the edit box, click Delete. If the box lacks a Delete option, you can only edit the information.
  9. Explain why you made a change.
  10. Click Delete.

Steps (mobile app)

  1. In the Family Tree mobile app, navigate to the Person page that you want to edit.
  2. Tap the Details tab.
  3. Under Vitals, tap the information you want to delete.
  4. Review the current information and any reason statements.
  5. Tap Delete. If you do not see the Delete option, you can only edit the information.
  6. Explain why you made a change.
  7. Tap Delete.

Steps (Family Tree Lite)

  1. Sign in to Family Tree Lite.
  2. Navigate to the Person page of the individual whose information that you want to edit.
  3. Under Vital Information, tap the information you want to delete.
  4. Review the current information and any reason statements.
  5. Tap Delete. If you do not see the Delete option, you can only edit the information.
