How do I print record details in historical records?

You can print the record details of a historical record you found on FamilySearch. The record details show the indexed information. The image could contain additional information, and we recommend that you look carefully at the image.

Steps (website)

  1. Sign in to FamilySearch.org
  2. At the top of the page, click Search
  3. Click Records.
  4. Enter your search terms, and click Search
  5. Find the search result that interests you and click the icon that looks like a sheet of lined paper.
  6. Near the top of the page, in the name banner, click Save.
  7. To the right of Print Record, click the cog icon.
  8. You see the fields that you can print. Click to de-select fields that you do not want to print.
  9. Click Print
  10. To continue, click Print.
  11. A print preview appears. Click Print.

Steps (mobile app)

  1. In the Family Tree mobile app, open the additional options:
    • Apple iOS: In the bottom-right corner, tap the 3 lines.
    • Android: In the top-left corner, tap the 3 lines.
  2. Tap Search Historical Records.
  3. Enter your search terms, and tap Search.
  4. In the search results, tap the record that you want.
  5. At the top, in the name banner, tap Save.
  6. Tap the cog icon beside Print Record.
  7. Tap to de-select fields that you do not want to print. Tap Print.
