The Planner can help you plan an individualized lesson to help a family or individual meet family history goals. You can only create lesson plans on the website version of the Planner.
The Planner is available in Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Russian, Traditional Chinese, Korean, and Japanese.
Access plans
- Sign in to FamilySearch.org.
- At the top, click the question mark icon.
- Select Helper Resources.
- On the right, find the Planner.
- Click a name on the list. If no list of names appears, click your own name.
- On the top left of the main navigation bar, click Plans.
Create a lesson plan
- Click New Plan.
- Details: Under the Details section:
- Enter a plan title.
- Enter research goals.
- Add Key Ancestors: Add key ancestors by clicking Add and entering an Ancestor ID.
- Plan: Enter your lesson plan.
Edit a plan
- Click a name on the Planner.
- Click Plans.
- Click a plan title.
- Make changes. The plan will autosave every five minutes.
Delete a plan
- Click a name on the Planner.
- Click Plans.
- Click a plan title.
- On the top right, click the three dots and then Delete.
Share the plan
In Planner, only you see the lesson plans you create. To share a copy with the person that you help, you can print your plan. Or you can download it and send as an email.
- Open the plan.
- On the top right of the plan, click the three dots.
- Click Print for a paper copy to share.
- Click Download PDF for an electronic copy that you can share through email.
- Click Duplicate plan to create a copy of the lesson in your planner.
