How do I delete an audio file on a photo?

You can delete an audio recording from a photo or document using the FamilySearch.org website, Family Tree mobile app, and Memories mobile app.         

Steps (website)

  1. Sign in to FamilySearch.
  2. At the top of the screen, click Memories.
  3. Click Gallery.
  4. If you archived the memory, click My Archive.
  5. (Optional) If you have uploaded many memories, click the camera icon to see your photos or the document icon to see your documents.
  6. Click the photo or document that you want.
  7. To the right of the audio, click X.

Steps (mobile apps)

  1. Open the Memories or Family Tree app.
  2. Navigate to the photo or document.
  3. Tap the photo or document. On an Apple iOS device, if you do not see the audio file, tap in the photo or document again.
  4. To the right of the audio, tap the trash can icon.
  5. Tap Delete.

Steps (Family Tree Lite)

Family Tree Lite does not allow you to remove photos, documents, stories, or audio files. Please use the website or mobile app instead.
