Success Stories: Stake Sets Goal Using Leader's Guide and DVD
The Church has produced many excellent videos to help you with your calling. Here’s a way to use one of them. The Willard Stake, Utah North Area, recently showed the To Turn the Hearts DVD video at their Saturday evening stake conference session, and then they invited all members of the stake (about 3,300 members) to research and prepare a family file card and then complete the ordinances for those individuals in the next 12 months—in conjunction with the opening of the Brigham City Utah Temple (in September 2012). Stake leaders wanted the less active to participate in this effort (they went on “rescue visits”) and wanted also to include the homebound in this work. This is an excellent example of priesthood leadership setting an achievable goal using temple work and family history in the work of salvation.
