For over 13 years SwedGen (a genealogical society in Sweden) has offered lectures and research assistance for Swedish American descendants all over the U.S. This year SwedGen will make stops in Lindsborg, Kansas; Aurora, Colorado; and Salt Lake City, Utah.
Their events in Salt Lake City will be held at the Family History Library for free on Thursday October 8th, 2015.
Lectures will include:
- 9:00 am, Online Swedish Resources, by Charlotte Börjesson
- 10:00am, Swedish Military Records, by Anneli Andersson
- 11:00 am, Finding Living Relatives in Sweden, by Anna-Lena Hultman
Along with these lectures, these experts from Sweden will offer “one on one” consultations in 30 minute sessions per person on the same afternoon. Use the research query form online at: https://www.swedgen.se/research-query/ to pre-register. Pre-registration is preferred but not required. There are 18 thirty minute for personal consultation sessions between 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. There will be a sign-up sheet for same day appointments.

This year’s presenters at the F.H.L are:
Anneli Andersson
Anneli has worked for many years at the Mellerud Museum. She has been instrumental in the expansion and development of their genealogical collections. She is the chairperson of the Släktforskare på Dahl genealogical society and has a special interest in emigrant research.
Anna-Lena Hultman
Anna-Lena has worked as a project leader for Sveriges Släktforskarförbund (The Federation of Swedish Genealogcial Societies.) Since retirement she leads a research center in Hössna, has a special interest in emigrant research, and has participated in all SwedGen tours.
Charlotte Börjesson
Charlotte has been on the board of directors for the DIS Society and is a representative for the DISBYT database. She serves as a District Cultural Leader for Vasa Order of America and has participated in all SwedGen tours.
